This is a rotational role, covering Adult Medical and Surgical Wards, and Paediatrics
The pharmacy service is open on Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 8pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 2.30pm. You will be flexible to cover on-call, evening and weekend services.

The hospital has 180 beds and 4 suites, 6 theatres, medical and surgical wards, CDU, level 2 and 3 full adult intensive care facilities, paediatrics (in/outpatients), investigative and diagnostic services, physiotherapy, a dedicated day surgery unit, and onsite pharmacy service.

What you'll do:
The Clinical Pharmacist is a key role in our pharmacy services, working in collaboration with the wider pharmacy team and ward-based MDT's to deliver and exceptional service. You'll be responsible, reliable, patient-focused, and knowledgeable, with demonstrable experience providing ward-based pharmacy services.
Contribute actively to service improvements on allocated nursing areas in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
Carry out effective medicine reconciliation on admission and discharge.
Perform regular monitoring of medicines management on wards/departments including controlled drugs and advising nursing staff on legal control, safe custody and security of drugs.
Provide relevant medication counselling to patients to enable them to take their medicines safely and effectively.
Participate in ward rounds, clinical hand-overs and promote the role of the Pharmacist as an integral part of the hospital multi-disciplinary clinical team.
Ensure that the Inpatient Clinical Pharmacy service is patient focused, responsive and appropriate and that the professional image of the department is upheld at all times.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Member of General Pharmaceutical Council (essential).
Post registration hospital experience (essential).
Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (essential).
Working towards RPS Faculty accreditation (essential).
Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society (desirable).
Member of UKCPA (desirable).
