The Role:
The Sufficiency Service within Children’s Services is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated administrative officer to work across the service, supporting the Short Breaks scheme directly and the wider service with administrative support that centres around information management and the production of a variety of reports.
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be an excellent communicator and have proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks, responsibilities and initiatives for the team. The role will require you to be able to prioritise and approach tasks with confidence and clarity, using your own initiative.
You will need to be flexible in your approach, able to manage your own workload effectively and work constructively as part of a busy team in a matrix working environment. As well as excellent organisational skills you will be thorough and have a keen attention to detail, especially in relation to reporting and information management.
The ideal candidate must have excellent IT skills and it is essential that you are confident and experienced in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as well as MS Teams. Knowledge of SharePoint and other MS Office applications would be advantageous. Experience of business systems and an ability to learn to use them quickly to extract information or carry out administrative tasks will also be essential. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and be technically proficient, being responsible for gathering, consolidating, and analysing data to produce comprehensive and accurate reports for presentation by service managers to senior stakeholders.
The team is looking for someone who would like to shape the role and identify new ways of working or process improvements, adding value to the service. This may be through identifying opportunities to streamline processes using technology to best effect to deliver service outputs with accuracy and efficiency. The post offers a broad range of responsibilities which make the role interesting and varied and which support continued professional development. We are open to the role being filled by one candidate or a job share arrangement. Hours spent on the two different elements of the role are fixed due to funding arrangements, but for candidates wanting to job share we are open to discussion about how those hours are structured across the working week.
Our office base is in Winchester and the role allows for a mix of office and home-based working but will require weekly attendance in the office on set days as well as being responsive to business-led requirements.
