Data Assistant - Nutrition (up to £25,000 per annum full-time equivalent, £15,000 pro rata for 3 days per week)

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a new Data Assistant to join our friendly and professional team. If you have an interest in food and nutrition and are an experienced app user with a keen eye for detail this is the right job and company for you.
The food database is at the heart of our app, enabling our members to track their nutrition effortlessly each day. Our food database spans products from US supermarkets, eating out establishments and more besides and it is the responsibility of the Data Team work to keep this information as up-to-date, accurate and user-friendly as possible.
In your role you will work within a team of Data Assistants and report to the International Data Quality Manager. The role involves delivering data acquisition and quality improvements for our growing US database to instill confidence in our members and ensure our food and nutrition databases are the best in the industry. You will work with a mixture of Microsoft Excel, Photoshop and our bespoke data systems.
As a Data Assistant, you will:
- Input, review and scrutinise US nutritional data.
- Keep abreast of new products, brands and eating out establishments across the US.
- Work both under your own initiative and within a team to achieve outcomes by specific deadlines.
- Assist our Customer Care team in solving nutritional data enquiries.

- You have great attention to detail and like to scrutinise packaging information.
- Be confident with the use of Excel spreadsheets and able to sort and filter column-based data.
- Have an excellent eye for detail, experience of data entry and the ability to persevere with tasks.
- Be organised and methodical to ensure data is entered within specific timescales.
- Excellent communication skills to work within a team.
- It is essential you are confident with technology and familiar with iOS and/or Android phones and downloading apps.
- Experience with photo editing software such as Photoshop would be desirable.
- Basic knowledge of US food labelling, dietary guidelines, food trends and common ingredients nice to have, but not essential.
