Due to the recent unsuccessful trial period of a new recruit, we need to re-advertise for another HGV Class 1 driver for Bulk Tipping work. Please read the following information prior to further enquiry. Candidates who live a considerable distance from Salisbury will not be considered, and automatically rejected. The successful candidate would be expected to work away for most of the week (i.e. Monday to Friday).
Average taxable gross pay for tax year 2023/24 = £39500. Based on a tax code of 1257L this would result in take home pay, weekly, of approx £610.00 + night out expenses (4 nights out + meal allowances would earn £120.00)
4 weeks (20 days) annual holiday + 8 Bank Holidays
Saturday rate payable per hour
You will be allocated your own tractor unit & trailer, therefore minimal "cab-hopping"(all tractor units have fridge & microwave)

J.C.Dean (Haulage) Ltd was established in 1969, operating from our own premises in Salisbury. Running over 20 Volvo tractor units and a variety of trailers all maintained in-house by our own workshop.
Your Responsibilities will include: Daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness. Early morning starts. Managing your own time to ensure that deliveries are made on time. Complying with EU driving hours. Communicating any delays to the Transport Office. Completing paper work and time sheets accurately. Keeping your tractor unit and trailer clean, both inside and out.
Requirement: To be totally committed to the job from from Monday to Friday (weekend work regularly available if you want to earn extra money and if it is legally compliant to do so), a valid C+E driving licence, a Digital Tacho Card (Digicard), a valid Drivers CPC, (drivers qualification card). You must be prepared for nights away on a regular basis. Bulk tipping experience essential, and a MPQC drivers skills card an advantage.
We have achieved FORS Bronze Accreditation and, in order to maintain this level of achievement, all drivers are required to work within pre-determined guidelines, with the added requirements for both specific in-house training, and the need to attend certain Driver CPC courses relevant to FORS.
