Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Community Adaptations

An exciting role has become available at the Cardiff Council for an Occupational Therapist to assess and address the needs of adults in the community, providing equipment and adaptations to enhance their independence and quality of life.
What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will conduct thorough assessments for adults needing equipment and adaptations, and develop and execute individualized treatment plans. You will recommend and facilitate the provision of equipment and adaptations, offering advice and information to service users and their families. Collaborating with agencies such as Housing, NHS, and voluntary organizations to achieve optimal outcomes is essential. You will ensure that adaptations meet the assessed needs and provide the necessary equipment. Staying informed about advancements in occupational therapy equipment and pursuing ongoing professional development while maintaining a professional portfolio are also key responsibilities

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Experience in adult occupational therapy, particularly in community settings, is essential, along with expertise in assessing for equipment and adaptations. Strong organizational and prioritization skills are crucial, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT). You will also need a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, as well as a willingness to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
