Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to elderly individuals. As a Care Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in helping seniors maintain their dignity, independence, and wellbeing. Your efforts will ensure our clients receive the best possible support in a warm, respectful, and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care Support: Assist clients with daily personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients with moving around their homes, including transferring from bed to chair, using mobility aids, and accompanying them on walks.
- Meal Preparation & Feeding: Prepare nutritious meals based on dietary needs and assist clients with feeding, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
- Medication Management: Support clients in taking prescribed medications as per care plans, and assist with organizing medication schedules.
- Companionship & Emotional Support: Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations, activities, and hobbies, offering emotional and psychological support.
- Household Assistance: Light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, and ensuring the home environment is safe and tidy.
- Monitoring Health & Wellbeing: Observe and report any changes in the client’s physical or mental condition to senior staff or family members, ensuring a timely response to any concerns.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of client care, including daily logs, medication administration, and any changes in health status.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a care role, particularly in elderly care, is highly desirable. However, training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Compassion & Patience: A genuine passion for working with elderly individuals, showing empathy, and providing excellent care.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with both clients and family members.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to assist clients with mobility and perform physical tasks associated with personal care.
- Reliability: A responsible, punctual, and dependable individual who takes pride in their work and can follow through on tasks.
- Qualification: [Any specific certifications or qualifications required, such as Care Certificate, NVQ, or equivalent.]
- Background Check: Successful completion of an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and reference checks
