Head of Speciality Lines and Real Estate Claims – Salary –Competitive
Aviva Global Corporate & Specialty has ambitions to grow the Specialty & Real Estate book from £1b GWP to £1.5b GWP over the next 5 years across both Company Market & Lloyd's Platform. We're looking for a high performing Head of Specialty Lines and Real Estate Claims to help build a unique market leading Claims proposition to underpin this ambition.
This London based role is ideal for an inspirational leader with extensive experience across Specialty Lines claims including Construction, Renewables, Engineering, Real Estate, Marine, Accident and Health, Political Violence & Terrorism and Contingency. It is perfect for someone who is highly respected within the industry, an expert in their field and known for being inclusive, courageous, and willing to constructively challenge conventional thinking.
You will lead a growing SpecialtyLines claims teams which comprisesa number of highly experienced claims professionals with deep experience across all Specialty classes.You will develop and maintain strong relationships with our broker partners and largest clients to support the growth ambitions. You will provide strategic guidance and oversight, design and deliver the Specialty Lines claimpropositions and set the appropriate claims strategy to support growth and improve customer outcomes. Your responsibilities will include managing settlement costs, overseeing large loss emergence, ensuring reserve accuracy, and achieving outstanding claims outcomes in line with regulations and business objectives.You will offer strategic advice to senior leadership on Specialty Lines claims matters.
Skills and experience we are looking for:
Extensive Knowledge: Deep understanding of the various Specialty Lines classes (with specific expertise in Construction and Real Estate)market practices and trends, and relevant legislation, enabling strategic decision-making and direction.Lloyds of London and London Market experience is also essential along with extensive experience of handling high-value, complex and high-profile claims.
Leadership and Direction: Exceptional leadership abilities, providing strong direction to the team, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards while achieving business objectives, with a particular focus on Lloyd's and the London Market. Proven track record of effective senior stakeholder management and extensive experience of operating at a senior management level.
Strategic Development and Implementation: Develop and implement effective claims handling strategies, offering strategic counsel to senior leadership and aligning with Aviva's overall objectives to maximise commercial outcomes. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance management, ensuring targets are met and promoting continuous improvement within the team.
Collaboration and Representation: Collaborate with senior leadership on claims strategy and proposition, risk managementand indemnity initiatives, while maintaining high visibility and representing the organisation in Major and Complex claim related matters.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and reporting on departmental performance to senior management.
