We are seeking inspirational and experienced Swim Manager to build an excellent reputation and programme of swim activities for the local community. Your main duties will be to drive aquatic activities to meet all set budgets and exceed commercial success by developing a comprehensive pool programme, including learn to swim, school and club programmes and training staff to Freedom Leisure’s high standards.
The role will include some evening and weekend working, with scope to develop skills and qualifications that could provide opportunities to move further within the business.
The people we are looking for need to be passionate about swimming, have a drive to lead commercial success, a natural ability to promote activities in the centre as well as social media, to manage a number of priorities at the same time and be able to build, lead and motivate staff.
In addition to this, you will also need to demonstrate the following in your application:
- ASA (Level 2) Swimming Teacher certificate
- Previous experience in swimming pool management, recreation, or a related field
- Skills to establish key relationships quickly
- Knowledge of pool operations, maintenance, and safety standards
- Financial management and budgeting skills
- Good commercial awareness and experience of assisting the delivery of targets and income performance
- Awareness of industry developments and trends
- Problem solving, project management, customer service and leadership skills

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday - Sunday (rota basis)
- To design, maintain, monitor and report back on a financially viable swimming lesson programme that meets the needs of the centre customers, schools, and pre-schoolers.
- To ensure the smooth administrative running of the swim school
- To organise and communicate the swimming teacher rota in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all lessons are covered by authorised staff
- To organise the work carried out by swimming teachers
- To assist in the recruitment of the swimming teachers.
- To be able to work flexibly with a level of autonomy and decision making confidence.
- Assist in creating marketing campaigns to promote the swimming facility and its programs
- Develop and manage the swimming facility's budget, ensuring proper allocation of resources for staffing, supplies, and maintenance
- Develop and promote swim programmes, classes, and events for different skill levels and ages
- Ensure that all safety standards and regulations are met, including the enforcement of swimming pool rules
- Oversee emergency procedures, including first aid, and CPR certification for relevant staff
- Supervise and evaluate staff performance, ensuring all team members provide high-quality service and adhere to safety protocols
